carnival in germany's black forest. don't try this at home... update1: here's my shot taken last night: [link] update2: ooops, just realized something strange hey, it's a DD! Thanks to dA's "catwoman", the incredible helewidis!
In WhichIsWitch by *RaMiBru we can see a more archaic witch costume within a scene from the carnival in germany's black forest. (
Hmmm... we have similar fest in Lithuania too, might be the same. It is all about how to get winter out of the country. So it's called "Ugavienės" and we all try to set the winter on fire (Morė, afterwards "Laininis" (the fat one) and "Kanapinis" (the skinny) have to fight, if Kanapinis wins than winter will go away soon and all will have a great spring. But tha is always happens by our tradition, 'causenobody wants to see winter anymore.
Anywa. Mask is not so special, for the moments of our time in all Lithuania and I don't see any special composition or anything. The whole picture stands out for others only for it's concept for those haven't seen anything like it, but man... it's not that special to get a high ratings. Anyways, congrats with daily deviation. Not that impressing, but don't say you made shit. Somehow for me it's sweet for reminding folk culture.
Impressive work. I wonder how you metered the light to get that much texture on the person in the foreground. I would've been afraid that he/she turned out to dark. Did you use a flash? No, for that the look of it is too ambient/available. Very nice!
