hopefully i'll be able to reload the pictures of the series soon...

the picture "pain" has been taken from my series "living with aids" which is definitly my most personal piece of photographical work.

the series is about a man who was infected by the HIVirus. i went along with him for four years, documenting the last years of his life, showing what HIV and AIDS made to a man (who became a close friend of mine), his family, his friends and his social environment.

it's the story about a loving father of two children but also the story of a multi addicted junkie. it might be a story about each of us, too...

:( that's really sad. that must have been tough to follow him around, be close to him, and then lose him.

Your series made me cry, at the beginning he looks so full of life, and hope, and by the end, the looks so worn out, and as you have titled this, helpless. Im so sorry you lost a close friend, through this diease, and all i can do is hope, that this will educate someone, and hopefully stop them getting HIV.

I appreciated the complete work on you website. A really great reportage: involving, intense, complete. Great emotions. Thank you.
That's really really sad. The picture captures his helplessness completely. It's a great photo.

Until on the Day when He says Rise only the flat-iron would come floating up.
It is really sad that some people only understand how harmfull for them drugs or aids are, when they see such series...but I think this is almost the only way to bring them to consciousness.

great work

Hi,
hab mir grade deine Fotostrecke komplett angesehen.

This is really intense... I looked at the whole series at your website and I don't really know what to say except that you captured this man's last years of life in a really honest way. Respect.

I've seen all the serie on your site...
and I'm broken inside..now I've seen so much pain for only one man...
and there's a picture when his wife (i supposed she is) look at him with one saw that tell all that she's living..
and I'm really sad now to know that he's been one important friend in your life..he did'nt choose aids but he couldn't stop in time..
I should tell you more but my english is not good enough...
